Practical Information
Clear details about sessions, fees, and how we work together. If something is unclear, bring it to the free 20-minute discovery call.
Individual and couples sessions are 50 minutes.
We usually meet weekly. Every other week is possible. We can adjust the rhythm as we go.
How long are therapy sessions?
Where do sessions take place?
Sessions are virtual and available across Ontario.
We meet on a secure video platform. You will need a private space and a stable connection.
What are the fees?
Fees are discussed on the free 20-minute discovery call. They are not published on this site.
I do not bill insurance companies directly. After each session you receive a receipt that you can submit if your plan covers psychotherapy with a Registered Psychotherapist (RP).
Payment is made through Jane App by credit or debit card.
What is the cancellation policy?
I ask for at least 48 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours notice are charged the full fee.
This protects the time we set aside for each other.
What happens during the free discovery call?
The call is 20 minutes. It is a chance for us to meet and see whether working together feels right.
You can say a little about what is bringing you. You can ask how I work. There is no pressure and no obligation to continue.
What can I expect in the first therapy session?
The first full session is 50 minutes. We get to know what is happening, what you are hoping for, and how we might work. You do not need a finished story. We go at a pace that works for you.
How should I prepare for therapy?
Nothing special. A private room and a working connection are enough. If you have questions, bring them.
Is therapy confidential?
Yes. What we discuss remains private.
The exceptions are the legal and ethical limits that apply to Registered Psychotherapists in Ontario. These include imminent risk of harm to yourself or others, certain legal requirements such as court orders, and concerns about the safety of a child or a vulnerable adult. We can go over these limits in more detail if you want.
What if I’m in crisis or need immediate support?
If you are in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
I cannot provide crisis support outside scheduled sessions. If you need urgent support between sessions, call or text 9-8-8, Canada's Suicide Crisis Helpline, available 24 hours a day. You can also use your local crisis line.
